[edit] Remarks
A hardy, hence useful urban tree - but only males should be used. One of those problem species - native occurrences ranked as S1 and considered rare in AB. Similar to Manitoba Maple. It is wind pollinated and monoceious, so although crossing of native and horticultural material remains a possibility, planting only males reduces risk of spread into new habitats from deliberate plantings.
