Remarks

First reported in Alberta in Dinosaur Provincial Park in 2011, tumbleweed is a drought resistant, salt-tolerant spring annual that is native to Siberia, Korea, Northern and Northeastern China, and Mongolia. It was first collected in the US (in Kansas) in 1923 but misidentified, and first reported in 1938, in Minnesota.
