Talk:Sambucus racemosa

Sambucus racemosa var. pubens (red elderberry) has become common in Edmonton's river valley system thanks to birds dropping the seeds everywhere. There are even some very large shrubs in the Wagner Natural Area. I would put this shrub in the same category as cotoneaster, European mountain ash and Tartarian honeysuckle as potential and persistent invaders in woodland habitats, particularly along watercourses.
